Just an observation…

Ok, this is just an observation…what’s the deal with all the people here with dread locks?

No, really.

Here are some thoughts on that, other than I think you look, well, gross.

Having dreadlocks doesn’t mean you are a racist person and sure, you may not have meant to piss people off – but that doesn’t mean that dreadlocks on white people exist in an anti-race vacuum.

From this….

And then there is…this

Maybe it’s because people around here seem to have not paid attention in school.

Dreadlocks are a symbol of Black/African pride and resistance to white supremacist beauty standards and are rooted in Black/African struggles for survival and liberation.

You guys having them? Is kind of a slap in the face to others.

But, what happens here? You all don’t seem to care about that or anything that isn’t two feet in front of your face.

Now, that is my opinion and I also think PGH is a retirement home for punk rockers and a bastion of white trash.

This? Just kind of reinforces that.

Like a Girl…

Nothing enrages this feminist more than calling someone or something “girly” as a sign of weakness or being not as good as a man.

Yesterday, some fixie dude says, “I have my girly gear” on his bike.

My response was, “I know a lot of girls who would beat you out right in a race” in THAT girly gear.

He looked at me with disgust.

Jesus, this place has a problem.
